If you’re here because you found one of my flyers or online ads, let me explain more of what my freelancing is about…
the rundown
I (Lillian) possess a writing MFA & digital art + marketing + tech savviness
Troy is a former Meowtropolitan host, now earning his Churus as my assistant
My cat (Troy) and I are open for projects, tasks, or other deliverables w/ visual graphics, tedious formatting, social media support, and editing/workshop needs
Some examples of deliverables include…
- Event Posters
- Parties, concerts, book/album/project launches, tournaments, etc.
- Flyers
- Any size, any theme, any layout, any (non-hateful) messaging
- Social Media
- Posts for online communications
- Blog Posts
- Researched, engaging & succinct (~300-1,000-word) articles on any topic
- Document Editing
- Copyediting for scripts, lists, and other long-form documents; additional support/feedback for creative nonfiction/fiction/poetry
- Digital Housekeeping
- Sorting files, securing passwords, and other forms of technical support
- Transcribing
- Writing summaries, dialogue, or creating formattable document(s)
I taught myself word processors and other digital applications since I was four (2004). In the 2010’s, this expanded to contributing my graphic art and creative writing for social media pages (my own, my friends’, and misc. contacts)
The list for the amount of design/writing software and social media sites I’ve learned/used/worked in is too exhausting to completely detail!!
We’re ready for your last minute deadlines…
Graphic design [and copyediting] is my passion.
Caffeine or no caffeine, I reach a high of summit fever when I’m formatting or designing posters; I will happily spend 1-2 hours on shading, or indenting paragraphs/dialogue lines, if I believe it’s for the betterment of the deliverable
Depending on the length or needs of your commission: if you notify me 36-72 hours before your deadline, I can provide the effort + energy to prepare a proofread, quality deliverable
…and we don’t use A.I.
Our editing and graphic design is completely free of A.I., which…
- Eliminates the risk of future stigma/controversies
- Mass-produced A.I. content ≠ all-human art and musings
- Eliminates future copyright issues/plagiarism accusations
- Generative A.I. mimics content from people and other A.I. bots, thereby creating a limited feedback loop where A.I. can only provide its users with derivative, un-original graphics and written content
- Improves quality of work
- What can communicate better with clients and fans? An A.I. produced article with incorrect or fake citations vs. a well-researched article written by an English graduate who’s also studied history, literary theory, film, botany, architecture and many more humanities-type interests!
For graphics, I rely on a 2020 iPad with an Apple pencil + the Procreate app; for desktop needs (website/document editing) I have a Chromebook
I take photography with my outdated iPhone X, sometimes with my partner’s fancier camera (thank you Kobe!); either leaving the photos untouched, retouching them, and/or using them in Procreate for my own project(s) or a commission
general q&a’s
For any q&a’s I’ve left out, feel free to send it my contact form!
“so what exactly do you ‘freelance’?”
I freelance deliverable items that need graphic design, copyediting chores, and other tech/writing support
The list of examples is not exhaustive; I am truly open to any sort of graphic design or copyediting commission
“why are you freelancing?”
As a tech savvy, former-university-student who finds graphic design/word processor tasks very easy and quick to complete, I want to help working professionals in education/arts (such as teachers and administrators) and students clear away their tedious editing/formatting chores, support their projects by designing graphics, or provide tech help/feedback on their written work
My mission is to clear away the workloads of other educators, students, and emerging artists
“how much do you charge?”
This depends on the project/task you give me, and the time it’d take for me to finish it
Every commission will be charged at a flat rate of around ~$150 to ~$400, to be paid to me through Venmo or Zelle
I will generally ask for one half of payment as a deposit, and the second half when I submit/finish your deliverable
I offer sliding scale pricing for educators, students, and emerging artists
“how last-minute of a commission do you accept?”
An average commission brought to me can include:
- ~300 – 5,000 words/characters to be retyped/transcribed and formatted
- 5-10 graphics for Instagram, FaceBook, YouTube, Patreon, etc.
- One or two full-length scripts, essays, or communications in .pdf format to be made into a formattable .docx file
To provide an average commission in the best quality, I would need a 36-72 hour notice
If I am unable to prepare your deliverable by your deadline, I will notify you at the time of our consultation and/or as soon as possible
If you have a last-minute commission, reach out to me as soon as you can, and I will be able to prepare as much as I can before your deadline
